Blanca Holguin Homestead Leader: A Journey from Marine Corps to Financial Leadership and Environmental Stewardship
Blanca Holguin, a respected Homestead leader, has built an inspiring journey grounded in service, discipline, and community impact. As a true Blanca Holguin Homestead leader, her life blends military dedication, financial leadership, and environmental care, making her a standout figure in South Florida.
Born in El Paso, Texas, Blanca has proudly called Homestead home since 2015. Her service began in 2008 when she joined the United States Marine Corps as a field radio operator. During her four years of active duty, Blanca was deployed twice to Afghanistan, where she demonstrated courage, responsibility, and steadfast commitment—qualities she now applies as a community and financial leader.
After completing her military service, Blanca transitioned into the financial sector, where she pursued a long-time dream of helping families achieve financial stability. She began her banking career in 2012 as a teller at Power Financial Federal Credit Union, an institution known for supporting local communities. By 2019, Blanca earned the position of assistant branch manager. Today, she is recognized not only as a banking professional but as a Blanca Holguin Homestead leader who is passionate about customer service, financial education, and helping members build stronger futures. Her dedication mirrors the mission of many community-focused credit unions, including industry organizations such as the National Credit Union Administration. (external outbound link added to NCUA)
Blanca’s story, however, goes beyond financial leadership. Together with her husband, Albert Diaz, she owns a farm in the Redlands where they grow longan and care for 18 goats. These goats play an essential role in preserving the endangered pine rockland ecosystem by clearing overgrown vegetation and reducing wildfire risks. This important environmental work has become one of the many ways this Homestead leader gives back to her community.
The couple also raises 30 free-range chickens, sharing eggs with relatives and friends—a symbol of their commitment to sustainability and community values. Blanca’s lifestyle reflects teamwork, responsibility, and stewardship, both in nature and in her professional service.
Her favorite quote by Henry Ford resonates deeply with her journey: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” Blanca embodies this philosophy in every stage of her life—military, career, and community.
