GKBA & Coral Gables Chamber Christmas Event at Dadeland Mall 2014
As the festive season approached in 2014, the Greater Kendall Business Association and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce joined hands for a heartwarming event at Dadeland Mall. It wasn’t just about the usual holiday celebrations; it was about spreading joy to those in need.
The setting was Earls Kitchen+Bar, adorned with twinkling lights and cheerful decorations. Members from both associations gathered, each carrying a wrapped gift meant to bring smiles to others. Whether it was a donation benefiting Neighbors 4 Neighbors or a thoughtful present for a senior as part of the “Be a Santa to a Senior” initiative by Home Instead Senior Care, everyone came prepared to make a difference.
At the forefront of the event stood Jorge Pena, the President of GKBA, whose leadership and dedication set the tone for the evening. Among the attendees were prominent figures like Anthony Acevedo from Visiting Angels, Attorney Richard Markowitz, and Jan Hurley representing Hurley Health Resources. Board Members such as Gilma Hernandez, Realtor Sandra Fernandez, and David Castrillon from Read2Succeed added to the gathering’s sense of community.
Irma Castor, the Manager of Dadeland Mall, extended a warm welcome to all, expressing gratitude for their participation. Her assistant, Carla de Maria, ensured that everything ran smoothly, embodying the spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
A surprise guest appearance came from Pete de la Torre, representing the Doral Business Council, further emphasizing the unity among various business communities.
Capturing the essence of the event was Karen Nercess, the official photographer of the association, along with her husband Ed. Their presence added a touch of professionalism and warmth, immortalizing moments of kindness and generosity.
Amidst laughter, conversation, and the exchange of gifts, there was a palpable sense of joy and fulfillment. It wasn’t just about business networking; it was about coming together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, embodying the true spirit of the holiday season. As the night drew to a close, hearts were full, and memories were made that would last far beyond the holiday season.
