2 Corinthians 1:4 – “Who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
The world is a complex place that is currently filled with war, hatred, starvation and more. It is easy to turn your cheek and ignore the chaos in the world. Sometimes people feel it is necessary to ignore the troubles in the world or other people’s issues in order to have a peaceful life.
Instead of shutting out the world and people who need your help, open your heart to others. We might not be able to save everyone in the world, but we can do our part to help those around us. To these people, you will be changing their world.
Today you should be encouraged to bring some peace and love to the world. Help make others around your find peace, joy, happiness and the Lord.
You might feel overwhelmed about where you should start. First, start with you. Find what you are passionate about. Did you suffer through a specific situation in your life? For example, did you survive cancer? Find ways to volunteer to visit patients and share the word of God. Encourage them to be strong, have faith and provide helpful tips regarding diet and other ways that helped you make it through your illness.
Were you homeless at some point in your life? Do you now live in a beautiful home and have a wonderful career? Reach out to homeless shelters and organizations to see where you can help. You might feel encouraged to share your testimony with others and help find jobs that will lead them to have a home again.
It is important to look within to find your true passions. Often our passions originate from your own struggles that you powered through. You can use the lessons you learned from your own experience to help others succeed.
Unfortunately, many people want to help others so much, they try to do too many things at once. This often leads to feeling overwhelmed and stopping all of your efforts. In the beginning, choose one specific cause to help. Open your heart to the people and the cause. Do your best to give it your attention. Find ways to help people succeed and find their way through their obstacles. Share the word of God and invite them to church. Chances are someone did this for you during your time of need. Take action today by reaching out and helping others.
