At a glance: Medley March 2026 put growth and infrastructure in focus. Mayor Ana “Lily” Stefano discussed regional planning, while the Council agenda listed road, drainage and pump station work.
Planning for a changing town
First, Mayor Stefano spoke about projected residential growth at the Feb. 24 VISION 2026 forum. The March 9 report said she called for planning roads and municipal services with neighboring communities. That matters because traffic and utilities cross city lines.
On March 31, Mayor Stefano traveled to Washington with Police Chief Louis Ponce and Deputy Chief Sergio Aldana. According to the published visit report, the delegation discussed municipal projects and local needs. The report also described public-safety projects.
Repair work starts with clear records
The March 2 Council agenda listed an FDOT agreement for the NW 74th Street Connector. It also listed emergency repairs at Pump Station 106. In addition, the agenda included redevelopment reviews for two Town properties. Because these were agenda items, the meeting record is the place to check what advanced.
For families, the stakes are personal: dependable streets, drainage that works in heavy rain, and services that keep pace with the region. Meanwhile, Medley’s Police Department and utility teams coordinate with county and state partners.
Baseball season lifts off
On the field, Miami Springs Senior High’s Golden Hawks beat Belen Jesuit 7–5 in March, according to MiamiSprings.com. Later, the Hawks faced Coral Gables in the GMAC tournament. The local game report covered that matchup. Even when a team falls short, players and families give the community something to rally around.
Overall, March brought growth planning, practical repairs and a proud moment for local baseball. For neighbors, those everyday efforts help make Medley feel like home.
