GREAT MINDS DISCUSS IDEAS; AVERAGE MINDS DISCUSS EVENTS; SMALL MINDS DISCUSS PEOPLE

Local, professional networking options in Miami can seem fairly limited at times, especially for business leaders in certain professions and industries. Although online options exist, such as LinkedIn, Facebook Groups, and Twitter and industry-based forums, these communities don’t provide real-world face time for career-focused professionals.

How can business leaders and other professionals in Miami network with people who actually live and work in the region? How can they learn face-to-face from each other’s knowledge and experiences?

We believe that Miami Think Tank is the answer.

What Is Miami Think Tank?

“Miami Think Tank” is the next step of the original B2B networking and socializing concept that Wilson Alvarez created in 2007. Think of it as Version 2.0 of the idea. Alvarez successfully ran regular group meetings for Miami business professionals until the pandemic reduced participation and forced the closure of the group. With pandemic restrictions decreasing nationwide, we’re happy to announce the formation of this new version that we are calling Miami Think Tank!

How Is Miami Think Tank Beneficial?

Our business-networking model worked because each person could share their unique perspective in ways that helped add to a meeting’s topic-focused conversation. This arrangement guaranteed dynamic conversation from people with different perspectives and professions who could offer unique business and industry tips. Every member is highly energetic and eager to share their knowledge to improve the professional and personal lives of other members.

Each meeting also has its own culture and dynamics, which means that professionals benefit from different leadership styles and knowledge related to a wide range of topics. Since the meetings are focused 100% on business, participants never have to worry that they’re going to waste time listening to people debate or argue hot-button or red-flag topics like politics and religion. We believe that we hear enough about the negative in the news.

It’s time to have positive conversations that lift up our careers and lives!

How Long Are The Meetings?

The original Miami Think Tank took place over seven group meetings, (West Kendall, South Miami, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, Doral, Coral Gables, and Brickell)  We would invite 10 business professional to each group and focus on one or more topics and a profession. Groups met each day in a different city (i.e. Brickell, Coral Gables, South Miami, etc.) before a 7:30 a.m. EST/EDT start time. Meetings would last approximately one and a half hours until approximately 9 a.m. EDT/EST. We expect this new Miami Think Tank to run in nearly the same fashion.

As a Miami business leader or professional, you receive an amazing opportunity to explore local and non-local business- and career-concerns in a fun and unique way. You can also form long-term business relationships with people who you might not normally interact with outside of our meetings.
