Veronica Restrepo: A Miami Rising Star

Success begins with vision but thrives through collaboration. Bringing together artists, craftsmen, and businesses to create meaningful spaces is both a privilege and a responsibility. -Veronica Restrepo

In the ever-evolving world of interior design, few professionals shine as brightly as Veronica Restrepo, founder of Lorié Interiors. A visionary designer, Veronica embodies what it means to be a Rising Star in Miami—a young, passionate professional with the talent and drive to leave a lasting mark on the industry. Her journey from accounting to interior design is a testament to the power of following one’s true passion.

From Numbers to Design: A Leap of Faith

While studying for her CPA, Veronica found herself increasingly drawn to creative problem-solving. Struggling to stay engaged with accounting, she spent late nights designing hypothetical homes from Zillow listings and reimagining spaces that weren’t hers to design. This pull toward creativity eventually led her into real estate, where she had the opportunity to work at Fairchild Partners, a boutique commercial real estate firm in Miami. Specializing in office and retail leases and sales, she enjoyed visiting properties, connecting with business owners, and seeing firsthand how spaces could shape success.

During her time at Fairchild, she also began working on design projects with her mother and brother– first for family, then for clients through word of mouth. Over time, she realized that design was where she wanted to focus her energy full-time. Shifting into the family business, she discovered a passion not only for creating beautiful, functional spaces but also for the collaborative process behind them– working with artists, craftsmen, and local businesses to bring each vision to life.

A Family Legacy Rooted in Design

Veronica’s passion for design is deeply rooted in her family’s creative legacy. The name Lorié Interiors pays homage to her grandfather, Rafael Lorié, a proud Cuban who arrived in Miami in 1962. A skilled draftsman, Rafael left a legacy of artistry and craftsmanship that unknowingly shaped Veronica’s journey. Though she never met him– he passed in 1987 before she was born in 1996– his love for architecture and design flowed through her mother, Rosy, and ultimately into Veronica herself. That same passion was also passed down to her brother Rafael, who now plays an integral role in shaping the business alongside her.

Her mother’s artistic nature also played a significant role in shaping her creative mind. As a child, Veronica was obsessed with fabrics, textiles, and creating collages, often sewing clothes and expressing herself through design. Over time, this innate passion transformed into a thriving business that blends creativity with function.

The Powerhouse Behind Lorié Interiors

While Veronica focuses on decorative details, her brother Rafael, an industrial engineer, sets the creative direction and leads space planning, ensuring each design is both functional and intentional. He also oversees business operations, allowing their collaborative approach to thrive. Their mother, Rosy, contributes to the initial design process and execution, making them a well-rounded team that blends creativity, strategy, and purpose.

Miami itself is a major source of inspiration for both Veronica and Rafael. As enthusiasts of the city’s rich history and architecture, they draw from its vibrant colors, cultural influences, and diverse styles. Through Lorié Interiors, they aim to honor this heritage while bringing thoughtful, modern design concepts to life.

Designing for the Future

Despite only incorporating Lorié Interiors in 2021, Veronica has already secured a prestigious clientele. Her goal is to 10x her growth every year, expanding her reach while staying true to her design philosophy—enhancing people’s lives through beautifully crafted spaces. She draws inspiration from nature, travel, art, and her clients, ensuring each project is both aesthetically stunning and deeply personal.

As Steve Jobs once said, “Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.”

This quote perfectly encapsulates Veronica’s fearless transition from accounting to interior design. While numbers may have provided stability, her intuition led her to a career where she thrives creatively and emotionally. By embracing her passion, she found success and fulfillment in a field that allows her to make an impact on people’s lives through design.

Veronica’s journey is a powerful reminder that passion and purpose go hand in hand. When you listen to your heart, work hard, and surround yourself with a strong support system, you can turn dreams into reality. Lorié Interiors is more than just a design firm—it’s a testament to family, legacy, and the pursuit of happiness through creativity.
