West Kendall is located ten miles SW of Miami along US Route 1 which is on the edge of the Florida Everglades and is an unincorporated community in Miami-Dade County. It is home to the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport which is one of the general airports in the Miami metro area. Kendall got its name from an executive of the British Land Company who surveyed and mapped out a lot of the state of Florida.
