As a child, many people grow up with a variety of different coaches and leaders in their life. You learn new skills and improve your natural talents with the guidance of coaches. This is a wonderful part of childhood. However, once you become an adult society forces you to believe you shouldn’t need a coach any longer. This causes results such as people not reaching their full potential throughout their lifetime.
It is a shame that the lack of coaching throughout adulthood leads to less than good results. Now, there are plenty of people who have succeeded tremendously in business and life without a coach. But, do you ever wonder if all of that success could have come quicker or easier with the help of a coach?
My name is Frank Hopkins Jr. Most of my life I have been involved with some type of coach. When I was six years old, I started learning to play baseball. My Father coached me how to throw, catch and hit a baseball. From there I played sports like football, baseball, and basketball and had coaches all the way through college.
As I entered my business life, things began to change. Although I had always had coaches throughout my life, for some reason when I started working that changed. I had bosses but no coaches. I personally believe you cannot elevate to your greatest self without the help of a coach in your life. A person to come alongside you to help you see the blind spots in your life that only another person interested in your success can see.
I have seen so many times where I fell short in my life because I did not have that person in my life who was willing to encourage me, push me to a new level, call it like it is so that I could see a way to improve myself. Coaches are there to help us unravel the things that are going on in our life. Give us safe space to explore new options and try them out without being judged.
By making an investment in a coach, I can become what I am capable of becoming. We cannot achieve our highest self, without someone who is there to really help us make it happen in our life. I am a coach and I have a coach, and I can tell you that the process of coaching and being coached is a lot of fun as we are able to maximize our talent and abilities that we have been given.
