Diagnostic Imaging is various imaging techniques used to “see” inside the body and is a necessary component of diagnosis and treatment of injury and illness. A wide range of testing is offered at the Imaging Services Department at Baptist Hospital which includes nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), X-ray, computerized tomography (CT) scan and ultrasound. Baptist Hospital has the only SPECT/CT and dedicated 64 slice PET/CT capabilities in the health care system which gives advanced imaging capabilities for their oncology, cardiology and general patients. Nuclear SPECT imaging shows a three dimensional image and the area or organ that is scanned shows more detail. Nuclear medicine and Position Emission Tomography (PET) imaging service is provided by their Molecular Imaging Department. To keep their patients feeling as comfortable as possible, Baptist Hospital has a wide bore capability and satellite radio sound system.
