With the City of Doral incorporating in 2003 came the need of educational centers where its residents could send their children to school. With that initiative, many of Doral’s school have sprung up from this need and the desire to bring some of the best education to its residents. As a result, the City of Doral now has a series of pre-schools, elementary, middle, and high schools, including celebrated charter and private schools.

Founded in 1996, John I. Smith K-8 Center was the first elementary school in Doral. It has been an “A” school since its inception.  Doral Middle School has been rated an A+ school for the past 11 years. Doral Middle School is a Cambridge Partner, working with Cambridge International Examinations, which is the world’s largest provider of international education programs and qualifications for 5-19 year olds. Besides core classes, they have an Agriscience program where students are taught awareness of global and technological importance of agriculture and its contribution to our well-being. Other courses offered are Family and Consumer Sciences.

Among the charter schools is Doral Academy, educating children from Pre-K through 5th grade. It offers an arts and technology based program. In 2012, it began its Just Arts and Management Charter Middle School (JAM) for 6th graders.  Doral Academy Preparatory School, also known as Doral Academy Charter Middle/High School, is rated an “A” school. It educates students from 6th-12th grade. They offer a Pre-Advanced Placement Program as well as numerous innovative programs like the Doral Performing Arts and Entertainment Academy, Dual Enrollment and Scholars Program, and the Doral Academy Athletic Program. Doral Academy of Technology is another program offered by Doral Academy Preparatory School to students in grades 6th through 8th. In conjunction with their Pre-AP Program, this program stimulates a student’s love of math and science and prepares them to pursue academic and professional careers in the fields of Math, Science, Engineering and Technology.

Renaissance Elementary & Middle Charter School
(Pre-K-8) are both “A” schools. Their Curriculum combines the Florida Sunshine Standards and the Core Curriculum Model. The program focuses on each student’s individual learning style with interactive studies in math, science, language arts, social studies, music, art, technology, life skills, intramural sports and foreign languages.

Among the privates schools in Doral is Shelton Academy, educating students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Inspired by a Reggio Emilia philosophy, Shelton Academy incorporates a 21st century challenging curriculum where students are encouraged to learn through observation, inquiry, and interaction. Some of the courses offered to students in the Fine and Performance Arts include violin & cello, piano, flamenco, chorus, and filmmaking.

Divine Savior Lutheran Academy
is the only Christian school in the Doral area. It is a fully accredited academic institution, educating students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Faculty cater to Hispanic/multicultural families maintaining many of their customs and values while at the same time aiding them in their assimilation into the American way of life.
