I’m excited to share my experience from the recent Greater Kendall Business Association after-hours event held on September 7, 2023, at Texas de Brazil in Dadeland Mall. As one of the Leaders of this business community, I can attest that it’s more than just networking; it’s about building lasting connections.
The evening began at 5:30 PM, and the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation. The first familiar face to grace the event was Phyllis Weber from Youth for Christ, quickly followed by Anthony Acevedo representing Visiting Angels. Soon after, Michael Miller from Community Newspapers and Gloria Burns joined the gathering, forming the line at the registration table. The first 40 arrivals were greeted with complimentary drink tickets, and a nice spread of charcuterie boards were served throughout the venue.
What truly stood out was the camaraderie among attendees. As I glanced around, I witnessed genuine smiles, hearty laughter, and meaningful business conversations. Groups of people gathered, exchanged ideas, and formed connections that transcended mere business transactions. The Greater Kendall Business Association truly lives up to its reputation as the friendliest place to do business.

Now, let’s draw a parallel to this heartwarming story from the famous words of Maya Angelou, who once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” In much the same way, this gathering exemplified the importance of creating an atmosphere where people feel valued and appreciated, and where meaningful connections are forged.
