Instagram for Business: Are You an Influencer and Don’t Even Know It?

Why every Miami business is already in the influence business, whether they realize it or not.
“Every business is an influencer now, the only question is whether you influence intentionally or accidentally.”
-Wilson Alvarez

TL;DR – Instagram for business is no longer optional. Customers expect to see, trust, and connect with companies online before they buy. Whether you sell services or products, Instagram is now a visibility and credibility platform for modern businesses.

Instagram for business has quietly transformed from a fun photo app into one of the most powerful trust platforms in the world. Many business owners still believe Instagram is only for influencers, artists, or lifestyle brands. That belief is now costing companies real opportunities.
Today, before someone calls a company, visits a website, or walks into a store, they often check Instagram first. It has become a digital first impression that helps customers decide whether a business feels modern, active, and trustworthy.
Instagram is no longer about being famous. It is about being visible.
The Direct Answer is simple. Businesses need Instagram because customers use it to validate credibility, evaluate trust, and decide who they want to contact before making a purchase.
This shift did not happen overnight. However, customer behavior has changed faster than most companies realize.
When people search for a business today, they expect proof of life. They want to see activity, personality, and evidence that real people stand behind the brand.
Think about your own habits. When you hear about a new restaurant, attorney, realtor, or service provider, what do you check first? Many people open Instagram before they even visit the website.
This is where the idea of influence changes meaning. Being an influencer is no longer about selling products to millions of followers. Instead, it means influencing the small group of people already considering working with you.
A local business only needs to influence its local audience. That audience is often already searching.
Instagram is where they confirm their decision.
Modern buyers want reassurance. They want to see the people behind the brand. They want to feel the culture. They want to observe consistency. Most importantly, they want to feel comfortable reaching out.
Your Instagram feed becomes a living portfolio.
It shows your work, your events, your clients, your milestones, and your personality. Over time, these small posts build familiarity. Familiarity builds trust. Trust leads to conversations.
Many companies worry about being perfect online. That fear stops them from posting at all. However, customers do not expect perfection. They expect authenticity and consistency.
Posting regularly signals stability.
An active account tells visitors that the business is alive and engaged. An inactive account creates doubt, even if the company is successful offline.
More importantly, Instagram humanizes your business. People prefer to work with people, not logos.
Photos of your team, your office, your clients, and your community involvement create emotional connection. This connection cannot be achieved through a static website alone.
Instagram also acts as social proof. When customers see interactions, comments, and engagement, it validates the business in a powerful way.
This is modern word of mouth.
According to the Pew Research Center, social platforms now play a major role in how people evaluate businesses before making decisions. That trend continues to grow as younger buyers enter the marketplace.
Your Instagram presence tells a silent story every day. It answers questions customers never ask directly. Are you active? Are you modern? Are you trusted? Are you relevant?
A well maintained profile answers yes before the first phone call ever happens.
Wilson Alvarez once said, “Every business today is in the trust business first, and the product or service business second.” This perfectly captures the role Instagram now plays. The platform is not about vanity. It is about visibility and trust.
The famous marketing expert Seth Godin said, “People do not buy goods and services. They buy relations, stories, and magic.” This insight explains why Instagram works so well for businesses. Stories and relationships create comfort, and comfort creates conversions.
The biggest takeaway is simple. Instagram is not about becoming an influencer. It is about influencing the decision of the next person already considering your business.
If your company is not telling its story online, someone else will fill in the blanks.
Now is the time to control the narrative and show the world who you are.

An Invitation to the Table

Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter Launch | Building Brotherhood in Doral
“Every meaningful change in my life started with a conversation I almost didn’t have.”— Kevin Kerwin

The Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter Launch introduces a new space for men in Doral who value integrity, accountability, and meaningful conversation. Rather than relying on a loud announcement or mass invitation, this launch begins in a more intentional way—with a personal conversation.
At times, an invitation matters not because of what it promises, but because of what it represents. Instead of quick results, it offers alignment, trust, and brotherhood.
For that reason, this moment deserves attention.
Creating the Right Room in Doral
The Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter Launch focuses on creating the right room, not just another group. In this space, men show up honestly, listen with intention, and hold one another to a higher standard.
Unlike traditional networking or business-driven meetups, the Gentlemen’s Journal in Doral centers on values. It supports men who believe leadership begins with self-awareness and grows stronger through shared experience.
As a result, men seeking men’s leadership and authentic community in Doral often find this approach refreshing and necessary.
How the Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter Works
Once a month, members of the Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter gather around the table. During each meeting, every man speaks without interruption, pressure, or performance.
After each share, the group responds with thoughtful feedback rooted in accountability and mutual respect. Instead of competition or ego, the room encourages listening and clarity.
Because of this structure, something rare begins to form: trust.
Trust creates the foundation for honesty.Through honest dialogue, clarity emerges.Ultimately, that clarity strengthens leadership—both at home and in professional life.
Why the Gentlemen’s Journal Belongs in Doral
Doral continues to attract driven professionals, business owners, and family men who carry significant responsibility. While many achieve traditional success, that success often leads to deeper reflection over time.
Gradually, questions about alignment begin to surface.Soon after, legacy becomes part of the conversation.Eventually, men start examining whether daily actions truly reflect personal values.
The Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter Launch creates space for these reflections to unfold openly. More importantly, it allows men to explore them together, supported by accountability and shared growth.
Consequently, those pursuing personal growth and meaningful connection often discover something lasting within this chapter.
Brotherhood Built on Intention, Not Numbers
This Doral chapter does not aim to fill seats or expand quickly. Instead, it prioritizes trust, consistency, and intentional growth. Men who join commit to showing up, listening carefully, and speaking honestly.
In this environment, accountability strengthens rather than burdens.Likewise, brotherhood develops naturally through shared commitment.
Through the Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter, men recognize that growth does not happen in isolation. Rather, it develops through conversation, reflection, and responsibility.
An Invitation to Begin the Conversation
If the Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter Launch resonates with you—not because it sounds impressive, but because it feels necessary—this invitation exists for a reason.
There is no application to complete. There is no pressure to commit.Instead, the process begins with a conversation.
To learn more about the Gentlemen’s Journal Doral Chapter, or to attend a meeting as a guest, contact Kevin Kerwin directly at (786) 374-9103.
Every conversation remains personal, confidential, and handled with respect.

When You’re Not on Digital Media, You’re Invisible to the World

Every moment your brand isn’t online, you’re giving your competitors a head start.
-Wilson Alvarez

In today’s fast-paced, tech-driven society, visibility is everything. The digital landscape is where conversations happen, connections are forged, and brands are built. If you’re not leveraging digital media, your brand might as well not exist. Closing your eyes to the opportunities of digital media is equivalent to letting your brand fade into obscurity.
The Power of Digital Presence
Every click, like, and share on digital platforms contributes to your brand’s presence. Social media, websites, email campaigns, and content marketing are the lifelines that keep your brand relevant in the eyes of consumers. Without them, your brand becomes invisible in a world that’s always looking for something new and exciting.
What Happens When You’re Not Visible?

Loss of Relevance
Brands that aren’t online risk being perceived as outdated. The modern consumer expects to interact with businesses digitally.
Missed Opportunities
Without a strong digital presence, you miss out on reaching potential customers who are searching for solutions you provide.
Lack of Engagement
Digital media isn’t just about selling; it’s about building relationships. Without it, your connection with your audience weakens.

How to Avoid Becoming Invisible

Start Small, but Start Now
Launch a professional website or update your social media profiles. Every step counts toward building visibility.
Engage Consistently
Create a content calendar and post regularly to maintain visibility and engagement.
Invest in SEO and Paid Ads
Optimize your online presence so that your brand appears in relevant searches. Paid ads can also boost your reach.

Take Action Today
If you’ve been overlooking digital media, now’s the time to change that. Your competitors are online, and your audience is there too. Ensure your brand remains visible in a world that never stops looking.
“Visibility is key in the digital age. Don’t let your brand go unnoticed—take control of your digital media presence today.”

Dr. Harry K. Moon Becomes Nova Southeastern University’s Seventh President

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — Dr. Harry K. Moon officially became Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) seventh president and chief executive officer today (Jan. 1), succeeding Dr. George Hanbury, who had been president and CEO for 14 years.
Dr. Moon had been NSU’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, overseeing most of NSU’s administrative and auxiliary units, as well as its clinical health care operations since 2018. He led the integration of NSU’s 30-plus clinics to create NSU Health, a university-affiliated health care network. He also led the university’s COVID Response Team through its rapid transition to fully online learning during the pandemic, enabling NSU to sustain and increase enrollments.
Dr. Moon, an internationally renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon, has had a distinguished medical career and has been instrumental in the development of medical, research, and educational programs in South Florida for the past quarter century.
“Just as physicians pledge to uphold the highest standards in medicine, I pledge to uphold the highest standards in leading our university,” Dr. Moon said. “My commitment is driven by a deep-seated dedication to the well-being and success of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader communities we serve.”
Before joining NSU, Dr. Moon’s career included several executive positions for Cleveland Clinic Florida. He was president and chairman of the Board of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a member of the foundation’s Board of Trustees from 2001 to 2003. As chief executive officer and chairman of the Board of Governors of the Cleveland Clinic Florida from 1997 to 2003, he established an integrated academic medical center in South Florida.
Dr. Moon was named Dr. Hanbury’s successor by the NSU Board of Trustees in September 2023.
“Dr. Moon is very decisive,” said Charles L. Palmer, chairman of NSU’s Board of Trustees. “His biggest strength is his analytical ability. He’s going to analyze the facts, get the right information, and then make decisions based on that. Five years from now, I think we’ll be very, very high on the scale of universities in the United States as a research university as well as one that’s broadened the health care portfolio of this university.”
The founder and president of Himmarshee Surgical Partners of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Dr. Moon has been a clinical associate professor of surgery in NSU’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2008. He was appointed professor of anatomy in NSU’s Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences in 2024.
Dr. Moon joined the Cleveland Clinic in 1984 and served in administrative and medical positions, including head of microvascular surgery; head of the microvascular surgical, teaching, and research laboratory; and chairman of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Florida Health Plan from 1992 to 2001.
Dr. Moon is a civic leader and has served on the boards of numerous Florida-based non-profit organizations and corporations.
He was elected in 2024 as a Fellow ad hominem of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd), the oldest surgical college in the world, founded five centuries ago. He is a frequently published researcher and sought-after speaker in the United States and abroad.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Moon earned his M.D. degree in 1978 from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed surgery residencies at the University of Hawaii, the Medical University of South Carolina, and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English at Tulane University.
Dr. Moon was an outstanding and decorated high school athlete in Alabama, an all-state basketball player, and a state record-holder in the decathlon, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, 440-yard dash, and mile relay. He earned an athletic scholarship to Tulane.
Dr. Moon and his wife, Ann Marie, live in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and have four adult children and four grandchildren.
