She is one of only 880 students selected nationwide to receive this honor from the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Sisterhood, a nonprofit volunteer women’s organization dedicated to supporting educational opportunities for women. The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship, established in 2009, recognizes outstanding high school senior women who plan to pursue postsecondary education at accredited institutions in the U.S. or Canada.
